Accelerated Criminal Justice, BS/Criminal Justice, MS Program
The Criminal Justice, BS/Criminal Justice, MS accelerated program is designed to allow students interested in graduate school to begin taking graduate level courses as part of their undergraduate coursework. Students can double-count up to 12 semester hours (s.h.) of graduate level course work toward both their BSCJ and the MSCJ. Students accepted into the BS:MS Accelerated program will have the option to waive JUST 4990: Field Education and Seminar. Students interested in the program should contact Dr. Michele Stacey (staceym@ecu.edu), Graduate Program Director to discuss their eligibility and the application process.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
- 75 Undergraduate Semester Hours completed
- 3.0 Overall GPA
- 3.5 GPA in Criminal Justice Courses
- B or better in JUST 2004, JUST 3800, JUST 3900
Additional Application Requirements to be submitted via Qualtrics survey (a link will be provided through email by Dr. Stacey):
- Writing sample from one of your Criminal Justice Courses of at least 3 type written pages (in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format)
- Completed Application Form
Undergraduate students accepted into the Criminal Justice, BS/Criminal Justice, MS accelerated program may count up to 12 s.h. from the following courses:
- JUST 6012 – Seminar in Law Enforcement (for JUST 3112)
- JUST 6300 – Principles of Criminal Justice Administration and Management (for JUST 4300)
- JUST 6400 – Contemporary Issues in Juvenile Justice (for JUST 3200)
- JUST 6500 – Seminar in Criminal Justice Courts (for JUST 3503)
- JUST 6605 – Hate Crime (for JUST 4605)
- JUST 6610 – Victimology (for JUST 3400)
- JUST 6620 – Transnational Crime (for JUST 4620)
- JUST 6625 – Ethics in Criminal Justice (for JUST 4450)
