Criminal Justice and Criminology Ambassadors

Beginning in Fall 2026, the Criminal Justice and Criminology program will launch a new student initiative called Criminal Justice and Criminology Ambassadors. We are seeking motivated students to represent the program at recruitment, orientation, and other student focused events throughout the year, including Open House, Admitted Students Day, Pirates Aboard, and graduation ceremonies for students who are not yet graduating. The goal of the Ambassadors program is to help prospective and newly admitted students, as well as their family members, learn more about criminal justice and criminology degrees and programming from current students who can speak directly about their experiences in the program. Students selected as Ambassadors will also meet periodically for brief training, coordination, and event preparation.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Declared Criminal Justice and Criminology major
  • Minimum of 30 semester hours completed at ECU
  • Good academic standing
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism
  • Experience with program minors, clubs, events, etc.
  • Enthusiasm for the program and willingness to engage with prospective students and families
  • Must not be enrolled in CRIM 4990 (full time internship) during the semester of participation due to time commitments
 Promoters will receive:
  • A Criminal Justice and Criminology Ambassador shirt after completing a set number of volunteer hours
  • Recognition for service to the department
  • A certificate of appreciation from the department upon graduation
  • Possible additional rewards or professional development opportunities in the future
  • For longer events, food is provided
